TAURANGA WINS TROPHY
(Per Proms Association.) TAURANGA, las) night. Tim fourth race for the Cornwall Cup over a triangular course this afternoon was won by Tauranga, giving them three wins and the cup. There was a fresh northerly breeze. Manukau had the best of a. good start at 4.2 d p.m.. Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga following. Half-way to the firs) mark Tauranga. passed Hamilton and was closing up on Auckland'. Manukau was first round the first mark, with Tauranga ssec, later, Auckland lOscc., and Hamilton SOsec. back. Tn the run to the second mark, spinnakers were out. The Tauranga crew were handling their boat to great advantage round the first mark, and from then on increased their lead. The finishing times were:—Tauranga. 5.20 p.m.: Manukau. 5.21 15see. p.m.: Auckland 5.22 sscc. p.m.; Hamilton. 5.25 50sec. p.m.
