CONTROL OF TRADE
GERMAN EXPERIMENT
VITAL TEST NEXT YEAR
LONDON, Dec. 27
The Daily Telegraph’s Berlin corres-. pondent says that 1935 will provide a stern test of Dr. Schacht’s dictatorial control of trade and industry. The home trade outlook is comparatively bright, ami the recent improvement in retail trade will probably continue.
Germany’s vital new year problem is how to obtain raw materials. Much depends on whether her experiments with substitutes for products will succeed. If Germany can devise means of financing additional . imported raw materials, the trade outlook is not unpromising. If she fails, there will be great hardships in tile winter of 1935.
