REMAINS IDENTIFIED
AN ESCAPED PRISONER

HAMILTON, this day,
Human remains found in a tree near the Waipa River, at Tuhikaramea, by two young campers, were definitely identified at the inquest to-day as those of Barnard Charles Allan Cole, 29, who escaped from Waikeria Borstal Institute on May 22 last, and had not been seen or heard of since. Evidence of identification Was given by 'David Dunlop, superintendent of the prison, and Frank Robert Baker, who escaped with Cole, and was recaptured two days’ later. The inquiry was adjourned sine die.
