JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
LARGE CROWDS PRESENT

HOKITIKA, this day,
The Hokitika jubilee celebrations were continued to-day in fine weather. A record crowd was present this morning, when an old-time procession todk place. A very fine display was made, headed by Maoris in a wav-time canoe, and including many old-time relics and tableaux. " The sheets were gaily decorated and lined w’th delighted spectators. _ A pioneers’ luncheon in the Soldiers Hall Was largely attended. Sports are taking place at the racecourse this afternoon, with an old-time social in the evening. , Tho largest crowd seen in llolcitika for many years assembled on Christinas Eve, when the town was gaily illuminate/!. Continuing nightly throughout the week, the celebrations will conclude on Monday night, the new year being welcomed With a grand fireworks display. Many old Coasters from all parts ot New Zealand are present for tho celebrations.
