ULTRA SHORT WAVES
LONDON, Dee. 14
The radio correspondent tff the Daily Telegraph says: “Is broadcasting of spund films within reasonable distance? The Television Committee recommends that the British Broadcasting Corporation should be given authority to carry on a high definition- television service. Ultra short waves must be used to give J the clearest possible pictures, hilt a seriqus drawback is that, the present range is limited to 25 miles. To cover the whole country, therefore, it would be necessary to erect a number of powerful transmitting stations on high ground. A lofty tower will probably be erected in London. The systems thus far tested by the Television Committee are those of Baird Television, Limited, the Cossor Company, and Electrical and Musical Industries.”
