ARTIST'S RETURN
TO PAINT IN ZEALAND
A New Zealander by birth, whose paintings have been widely exhibited overseas, the Hon. Mrs. R. Vane returned to Aculdand by the Rangitata on a six months visit to the Dominion. Mrs. Vane, whose pictures are signed £airini Vane, visited New Zealand about thre years ago, and in addition to 1 doing a considerable amount of painting, held several Exhibitions of her wdrk. She is making her present trip with the special object of painting pohutukawa trees in blossom, and will ledve Aiifekland shortly for btalrarangi. Later she will also do some painting in the Mackenzie Country, South 'Canterbury; Most of Mrs. Vane’s work is done in tempera, an old medium only recently brought back to popular use. She also paints in oils and water color. Since her last visit to "New Zealand Mrs Vane Ims painted in various counters.
