NARROW ESCAPE
man GORED BY BULL
WOUNDED TN THE THIGH
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. A man named Thomas Perry had a narrow escape from death on Saturday, when ho was gored by a bull. Mr. Perry, 36, single, was engager! in haymaking operations at Higheliff, when the bull came into (he paddock in which lie was working. Mr. Perry attempted to drive it away with a fork, and. believing that he had accomplished his purpose, lie turned round anil commenced to walk away. The hull, however,' turned back- and charging Mr. Perry from behind, threw him to the ground. Fortunately Mr. Perry, who Was alone at the tithe, retained hold of bis fork, and using this as a spear, he drove the points into the bull’s nose and chased it off. In the encounter lie suffered a deeply lacerated wound in the thigh, and, was admitted to hospital later in the day.
