VISITING JAMBOREE
MELBOURNE, Dec. 23. Grim determination not to miss the Boy Scout jamboree ijvas shown by throe Rover Scouts who cycled from Perth l to Melbourne, arriving on Saturday worn and, weather beaten, but with their spirit's : undaunted. They covered the journey-of- 2368 miles in six weeks, carrying packs up to 76 lbs., and enduring temperatures to. 114 degrees on the arid Nullabor plain. .. The party experienced only three punctures. They crossed the Nullabor plain by following the trans-continen-tal railway line , and- were assisted with food by railway workers, as there are no towiis where supplies are obtainable between Kalgoorlie and Pori Augusta/ a of 1800 miles.
Some 118 Scouts, led by ComriiLssioner Cooksley, arrived from New Zealand by the Mahero, 50 are due by the Marama,; ih<| r the ; remainder by the Wanganella. nexs, *yveek.
