Camping methods are slowly changing, and the caravan is increasing in popularity. The idea seems to have started with the trailer, and during holiday time iKMany trailers are seen on the roads. caravan is the latest development, * aM any did bus which has outlived its service as a commercial vehicle seems to serve the purpose of an annual camping holiday. . Some of them are elaborately' fitted up, and this year there appear to be more caravan campers than previously. Several caravan camping parties are at present in the Gisborne district. The number of tents on camping grounds in Gisborse and the district is rapidly increasing with the approach of the Christmas period, and if the hveather keeps fine many campers* Should be abroad. The \ v ailcanae Bench camping:ground is catering for a dozen or more tents at present, with further arrivals expected during the holiday period. Among motorists seen in town are many carrying outside registration numbers, ami judging by their appearance most off them are on camping tours.
