HEREWORTH SCHOOL
SPORTS AND PRIZE -GIVINC-
SCHOOL’S GOOD RECORD
A splendid record of progress was outlined at the annual prize-giving at Heroworth School, Hawke’s Bay.
The principal, Air If. E. Sturge, after expressing his gratitude to the founders for placing the school in such ideal surroundings, said he ignored short cuts to education, but with steady and definite progress pupils of the school had made good. Air Sturge added that an entrance scholarship to Wanganui Collegiate School had been secured by one of the pupils. Of the boys who were now leaving, 13 were going to Wanganui, five to 'Christ’s College, one to Napier High School, one to Sherborne, in England, and one to Nelson College. He was glad that some very young boys were coming to the school next year. Looking back on the year, the headmaster said, there .was much to lie grateful for and much to be pleased with. He hoped that among next year’s activities such recreations as local exploration would be possible, and that the school would find some means of replacing the Bov Scouts that the school once had.
