2000 MALARIA VICTIMS
(Received Dee. 22, noon.) . COLOMBO, Dec. 21. The malaria epidemic has resulted in the death of 2000 persons. The price of quinine has trebled, and five months’ supply has been issued in 20 days. Thousands of pounds are being rushed from India, Y Java, and England. ( The North-Western Province faces food shortage oiving to floods and a caterpillar plague, succeeding the prolonged drought. The Duke of Gloucester has cabled his sympathy.
