PLAY INTERRUPTED

Play at the Oval this afternoon, on the second day of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association’s fourth series of matches, -was interrupted by torrential rain. At the time of the interruption, play had not progressed far from the point at which it was checked after the conclusion of the first day, a week ago. Marist, playing against Old Boys, had advanced their score from 55 runs for two wickets to 180 runs for four wickets.

Civil Service, against Gisborne Club, had nine wickets down for 100, having added only 10 runs to the first day’s score for a loss of four wickets.

Turnnganui, against City, ’had not. improved their position much since the first day’s play, and W-hataupoko, playing against High School, had four wickets down for 113 runs in their second innings.
