(Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.)

(Received Dec. 21, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 21

Advice has been received that the Diana aeroplane carrying the bulk of the English air mails, was damaged by striking a stone when taking off at Camooweal on Wednesday night, A substitute aeroplane, piloted by Captain Brain arrived there at 1 o’clock to-day and resumed the journey with the mails. It is announced that the air mails will reach Narrowmine this morning, where the Sydney and the New Zealand portion, and also the Duke of Gloucester’s mail, will be transferred to two' specially chartered planes, .and brought to Sydney direct, instead of from the official terminal, Cootamundra, in which case it is expected that the New' Zealand portion will connect with the outward bound Monowai.

Imperial Airways Athena, carrying the first regular air mail from England to Australia, arrived at Darwin on Tuesday evening. The mail left Croydon on December 9.
