Owing to the ill-health of the* accused, an adjournment was. granted by Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Police Court tins morning in a case in which three charges of theft were preferred against William. Alfred Rarnsfather. The accused was charged with the theft on April 23 of 10 totara posts valued at 30s, on May 21 of 14 posts valued at £2, and on April 23 of five sheets of corrugated iron valued at £l, the posts and iron all being the property of Cave Brothers. Mr. A. A. Whitehead, who appeared for the accused, explained that Barnsfather had been admitted to hospital, and on hiS application an adjournment until January 14 was granted, Detective McLeod offering no objection.
