HOLIDAY IN N.Z.
N.W.S. DEPUTY-PREMIER MEETING WAR-TIME FRIENDS (Pur Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Chiefly to renew acquaintances with his many New Zealand friends with whom he served in the Great War, Lieutenant-Colonel M. F. Bruxner, D. 5.0., deputy-Premier of New South Wales, arrived at Wellington by the Wanganella from Sydney last evening. Colonel Bruxner, .who is accompanied by his wife, daughter, and youngest son, will leave for Christchurch to-night. He will return to Wellington for Christmas, and will .later visit Rotorua and Auckland, from where he will return to Sydney on January 5. Colonel Bruxner said that they in New South Wales had been very glad to meet the New Zealand trade delegation, the Rt. Hon. J* G. Coates and the Hon. R. Masters. “Although their business affected Federal Ministers,” he said, “we had many personal conferences.”
Discussing conditions generally m New Soujh Wales, Colonel Bruxner said that there had been quite a healthy and continuous improvement. Low prices were still a difficulty, but business had improved, building operations were really very active, and railway figures had shown a marked increase in business, both in passengers and freights.
