A staff presentation to Mr. J. E. Shimmin, headmaster of Gisborne Central School, also helped to mark the close of the year, Mr. Sliinimin extending Ins thanks not only for the gift, hut also tor the sound and consistent' support lie hyd received from the staff during the period of his hcadmastership in the school.

The chairman Of the school committee, Mr. J. H. Sunderland, attended the presentation ceremony, and on bihalf of the committee, commended the staff work in the school, as indicated by tho good oE passes in tho various standards and forms.
