SWIMMING
GISBORNE CARNIVAL BIG GATE EXPECTED Officers of the Gisborne Surf and Swimming Club anticipate that the seating accommodation at. the Macrae Baths will he fully taxed this evening, when the first public carnival ,of the year will he held by the club. The carnival was arranged with a view to entertaining not only the regular supporters of the sport, in Gisborne, but. also the country people in town in connection with the visit of the Duke of Gloucester to Gisborne. The programme of the carnival includes four club chamiponship events, arid another attraction should be the water polo, which is steadily gaining in popularity with the public. Two good teams have been chosen to demonstrate the game to-night.
