PROFESSIONAL TENNIS EXTENSION NOT LIKELY FREMANTLE, Dec. 18. Mr. Wallis Alyers, the well-known tennis authority, who is a passenger on the. Maloja, in the. course of an interview, expressed the opinion that Perry’s recent defeat by Quist was due to some extraneous cause. He did not. think that professionalism would extend to the same extent as in golf. He added that the best interests of the game would be. served by the maintenance of the amateur status in tennis.
