DISCUSSIONS TO-DAY A USTRA LI A N POSITION (Received Dee. 18, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Dee. 17. Lively interest attaches to Mr. Walter Elliot’s and Mr. ,7. H. Thomas’ meeting with t lie Dominion High Commissioners to-morrow, because there .is considerable doubt as to whether Australia will regulate beef exports for the January to March quarter, whereas every other Dominion and Southern Rhodesia has agreed. Mr. S. M. Bruce in such an event will Be invidiously placed, because the Dominion’s unanimity is tactically necessary to enable them to negotiate the most important long-term policy. It is expected that to-morrow’s meeting, for the first time since the meat talks were initiated, will face the real issue.
