FAKE PRINCE
STUDENT’S ESCAPADE BIRMI NO 11AM HOAXED LONDON, Nov. 17. The Lord Mayor and corporation of Birmingham and a whole theatre audience not long ago took part in attribute of courtesy to the “Prince Mohammed Din Dbingo” —in other words Mr. Misbah, a Sudanese student. of Birmingham University. For four days, the whole city in fact was hoaxed by the university students and the “Prince.” He was described as the ruler of a French mandated territory in the- Sudan and a noted archaeologist and philanthropist. He arrived dressed in full native costume, having, so it was announced, flown from Paris to give his patronage to the carnival revue which was being given in aid of the hospitals. At the first night of the revue the Lord Mayor, Alderman H. E. Goodby, and the corporation attended in state. Their reception, though boisterous on the part of the students, was completely overshadowed by the reception accorded to Prince Dbingo and his retinue. The Lord Mayor, councillors and the entire audience rose as the French National Anthem was played.
