IMPROVED POSITION
CHRISTCHURCH TRAMS SURPLUS LAST MONTH (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A surplus of £575 has 'been shown in the revenue account of the Christchurch tramways for the four weeks ended December 2, according to a report submitted at a meeting yesterday of the Christchurch Tramway Board. The Bov. J, K. Archer, the chairman, said that the last four weeks had been exceedingly good. The same period last year had produced ,a deficit of £207, but this year there was a surplus of £575. This report was very interesting, because it. meant that the board had shown a surplus on a month’s working for the first time since January s], 1D32. “We can only hope that, the public will continue to patronise the trams,” said Mr Archer.
