ILLEGAL SHOW GAME (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. In the Police Court George Garner, 50, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a cheque for £lO, the property of Frederick Clement Page. He was convicted and ordered to refund £3, and to come up for sentence if called on. The police said the case was a sequel to the activities of two men at the Blenheim. show, when they ran an illegal game called “swing,” and involved a farmer to the extent of £lO, receiving a cheque for that amount. The other man had been convicted.
