BOWLS
TOKOMARU BAY CLUB MEMBER FAREWELLED (Herald Correspondent.) The members of the Tokomaru Bay Bowling Club tendered a farewell evening to Mr. A. Adams, who is leaving the district. The president, Mr. H. A. Findlay, occupied the chair. The following Were present:—Messrs. J: Corbett, J. Law, A. N. Wilkins, J. B. Stafford, J. Savage, F. Thompson, H. S.. Short, E. Hankey, J. Jackson, I. Lowe, S. McIVilliam, A. Morgan, D. Ramsay, and A. L. Walker.
The president spoke of the esteem in which Mr. Adams was held, and expressed sorrow because of the circumstances which caused him to leave.
Mr. Adams, in reply, thanked the members of the Bowling) Club for their kind remarks and laid stress on the efforts and kindness shown to him by Dr. Mackay during his leng illness. On behalf of the club members, the president, presented Mr. Adams with a cheque as a mark of their esteem. The meeting closed with the singing of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow."
TOLAGA BAY CLUB The Tolaga Bay Bowling Club is holding its club championships alongi new lines. The competitors have been divided into sections, each of which will send two players into the final events. This promises to be of considerable interest, a number of games having been played during the past 'week, 'these resulted as follows: A section.—Morrison, 2 wins and 1 loss; Ross, 2 and 1; Graham, 2 and 3; Hnrlstone, 3 and 0; Thornton, 1 and 1; Hodgson, 2 and 1
B section.—R. Moore, no wins and 2 losses • Allen, 2 and 0: Taylor, 1 and 1. C section.— R. Murphy, 1 and 1; Christoplierson, 1 and 1. • D section.—'Boreham, 1 and 1; Mace, 1 and 1; Farrell, 1 and 1 Tn the handicap event the- handicaps have been allotted as follows :—Hurlstone, C. E. Smith, Murphy, H. Farrell and Tempest, all on scratch; Morrison, N. B, Smith, Harries, Mace and Rosa, Qn 4; Hodgson, K. F. Smith, Taylor, Ronnie, Knox, Mattiazzi, Christonherson and Hutchins, on 6; Sloan, McCreedy, Higgs, Borcham, Burns, on 8; A. Lincoln, Graham, Allen, Graill, %\ng, R. Moore, on 10; Canning, .Larson, Sharpe, Thornton and Fraser, on 14.
