CEREMONY AT MARTON (Per Press Association.* MARTON, this day. A .spectacle unprecedented in the Dominion tour of the. Grenadier Guards Band took place at a civic welcome yesterday, when Major Miller was present jed by Ptiikea, secretary to P. W. Ratana, with a handsome Maori mat, as a. token of welcome and loyalty to the Crown of the 40,000 Maoris comprising the Batana. movement. Amid scenes of enthusiasm, Major Miller permitted the mat to be draped over his uniform. He, reciprocated bj» calling for cheers for Marton and the Maoris, and specially requested the Batana Band to march the Grenadiers to the park, where a crowd est incited at 3500 assembled.
