Mrs. August was hostess at a delightful bridge party held in the Parish Hall in aid of the Anglican Church funds. The bridge prizes were won by Mrs. Holder and Mr. Ross, and tho iivebundred prize was won by Mi's. August. Among those present were Mesdames Solan, Holder, and August; Misses Lawrence, Tipsett, and Laing; Messrs. Mace, Holder, Hollis, Ross, .Hodgson, Sloan, and Kemp. Mrs. Holmes held a delightful garden party in honor of Miss Kathleen "Bartram, whose wedding to Mr. Gillet takes place in the near future. Mrs. Holmes, who was wearing a smart frock of fawn figured crepe-de-ehine, was, assisted by her daughter, Miss Margaret Holmes, who chose flame linen relieved with fawn. A delightful tea was served in the garden, which was a mass of bloom, after which the guest of honor, who was wearing a charming frock of printed linen, opened a largo number of parcels, for which she returned thanks. Games and competitions were won as follows: Book and author competition. —Miss Reid. Treasure hunt.—Mrs. H. Fraser. Putting.—Miss Reid. Observation test. —Mrs. Bellerby.
