NOVEMBER STATISTICS INCREASE OF IMPORTS SLACKENING OP EXPORTS Substantial increases in imports are shown in' the monthly statistics of the Gisborne Harbor Board for November, and for the period p'f■ two months of pho .board's financial year which commenced on October 1* Exports, however, have shown a decided decline, the November decrease in this division of port business more than offsetting fl good improvement shown in October. The report 'prepared by the secretary-manager, Mr H. A. Barton, for the information of .board members, is as wider:— "'The usual dash statements and trade returns show that during November 4423 tons of cargo passed inward over' the wharves, as compared with 3173 tons during the same month last year, and 3325 tons went outward, compared with 4989 tons during November last year. The return, covering two months to the end of November, shews 9635 tons inward, against 7317 'tons for the same two months last year, and 4993 tons outward,' 'against ,6003 tons Inst year.. This sdiows an increase, of 2518 tons of imports and a decrease of 1040 tons of exports; '"The eash' statement 'figures for two months ended November 30,1934, compared with the previous year's under main headings, show as follows: —

This shows an increase of receipts of £llß4. 'Expenditure. —Interest, sinking fund and' bank charges, £7171 (£7209); general expenditure, £2159 (£2075); totals, £9330 (£9234). This shows an increase of expenditure of £46.
