OBITUARY
DR. JULIUS MARTIN, S M. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The death occurred at the Home of Compassion at. Wellington last night of Dr. Julius Martin, S.M., one of the. most, brilliant theologians in Australia and New Zealand, lie came to New Zealand in 1903 and for 31 years,- taught theology at Meanee Seminary, Hawke’s Bay. He was aged 59 years.
The Wellington Post records the death at Lower Hulfc of Mrs. C. W. Adams, a pioneer resident of Newi Zealand. Mrs. Adams, a remarkable woman, was the wife of the late, and well known, Mr. C. W. Adams, explorer, geographer, surveyor, and old colonist; chief surveyor of the geodetic survey of Canterbury and Westland in the early ’seventies, himself a remarkable man, a student disseminator of knowledge. Deceased had the distinction of being the only woman in New Zealand who lias tramped the wilds for more than three years with huslyuid and family. She is survived by a grown-up family, comprising Dr. 0. E. Adams, Dominion Astronomer and Seismologist, Wellington; Mr. A. 11. Adams, of Sydney, well-known author, novelist, poet, journalist, sometime editor of the (defunct) New Zealand Times; Air. C. F. Adams, auditor, accountant, ,GouJburn, N.S.W.; Mr. G. F. K. Adams, retired Indian Civil Servant (, Magistrate), of Italy; Airs. I. E. D. Spicer, well-known artist and illustrator of New Zealand flora; Mr. O’rmsby Gore Adams, insurance manager, .Cairo, Egypt.
