Brilliant weather prevailed for the women’s cricket match at Sydney cricket ground to-day between Eng'and and New South Wales, the respective captains being Betty Archdale (England) and Margaret Peden (N.S.W.). The Englishwomen won the loss and made 221 in the first innings—Miss M. MacLagan 24, Miss M. Hide 41, Miss J. Partridge 32, Miss D. Turner 50, Miss M. Spear 21. Bowling: Miss E. Shcvill, two for 53; Miss F. Blade, three for 40. New South Wales in Ihe first innings have lost one for 50.
COLLEGE MATCH WIN FOR PALMERSTON NORTH (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. The cricket match between Napier and Palmerston North Boys' High Schools was won by the latter by 99 runs. Tn the first day’s play the visitors bad made 211 and the home side 92. Palmerston’s second innings yesterday realised 158, while the home side’s total was 178.
SHEFFIELD SHIELD PLAY CENTURY TO KIPPAX ADELAIDE, Dee. 14. In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, New South Wales in the first innings have lost eight for 336 —Brown 81, Fingleton 55, Kippax not out 114.
VICTORIA V. QUEENSLAND MELBOURNE, Dec. 14. In the Sheffield Shield match against Queensland, ’Victoria in the first innings, have lost eight for 276 —Rigg 87, Oakley 44, Barnett not out 36, McCormick not out 50. The test player, Bromley, made nil.
