Australian Glass suffered another sharp fall, but leading tin dredging concerns made an improved showing. EWES FOR THE NORTH A draft of 800 2-th. breeding ewes was loaded on to the Margaret W, which left yesterday afternoon for Mahurangi Heads, North Auckland, A few rams were also included in the shipment. BELL-KILGOUR REPORT The secretary of the Bell-Kilgour Gold Mining Company, Limited, advises receipt of a report from the manager, dated December 8, reading as follows: —At Murray’s claim the . north branch was advanced 16ft. 6in., making a total of 31ft. from the flat sheet. At 29ft. we

passed through an old drive, which during the course of time had filled up. The clay “floor,” which is irregular, dropped 2ft. The east branch was advanced 20ft. for the period, making a total of 46ft. from the flat sheet. The “floor” here dropped slightly, but there is still sft. of clay to take up. At both faces boulders still form a large portion of the “wash”; the last 3ft is carrying a lot of “Maoris,” but the gold content is low.
