An advertisement in this issue draws attention to tiie holidays to be observed by Gisborne retailers during the visit of the Duke of Gloucester, and for the Christmas and New Year periods. | Attention is drawn to the advertisement on page l of the rendering of Maunder’s “Bethlehem” at the Bright Street Methodist Church to-morrow at 7 p.ui. “Bethlehem” is the finest Christinas music ever written, and the rendering by nearly 50 well trained voices with an orchestra under the baton cl Mr. Mainland L. Foster should provide a musical treat rarely heard in Gisborne. The Methodist Church cares for over.2Co children in its orphanages, and a retiring Christinas offering for them is asked for.
