MUSICAL PRODIGIES

Within the last two years South Australia has seen the blossoming of an infant music prodigy, Philip Hargrave, who is now embarked on a career which seems certain to win world wide celebrity. Recent examinations have revealed other ebullitions of child talent which in tho opinion of Professor Harold Davies, may flower as fruitfully. There is a. girl of five who does not know a note of music, yet who listens to the lessons given other pupils by her mother, a teacher , .of the pianoforte. and afterwards reproduces them faithfully by oar with the feeling of a real musician. She astonished musicians bp playing a Beethoven sonata a't three and a-lialf. Another of the children, a boy of six, is already a capable violinist, and the other a girl of seven and a-lialf, whq has achieved credits in examinations set for children twice her age.
