LORDS CONTROVERSY
APPEAL COURT JUDGES PROBLEM FOR CABINET LONDON, Dec. 13. The Daily Herald says that a supreme effort is being made to avert an open conflict in the Cabinet in connection with the dispute between Lord Hewart, Lord Chief Justice, and Lord Sankey, Lord High Chancellor. Lord Sankey is expected to deliver a strong, speech to-morrow establishing the Government's bona tides. The Cabinet realises that if it gives way to Lord Hewart completely it will involve Lord Sankey's resignation. The friends of Lord Justice Slesser openly state that he is the victim of a vendetta organised in Government circles.
