MAIM DIES IN GAOL
AWAITING TRIAL AN ALLEGED ASSAULT SYDNEY, Dec. 12. The police announced the death at Long Bay gaol of Ernest Lamb, 51, an accountant, who was awaiting trial for unlawfully assaulting a woman solicitor. Miss C. Jollie-Smith.
Miss Jollie-Smith, a prominent Sydney solicitor, was preparing an affidavit on behalf of Dr. Kisch in her office in Sydney on November 16 when a man entered and struck her over the head with a piece of iron piping. She was removed to hospital with badly lacerated wounds on 'the scalp, and probable concussion.
