BEEF For an ontiy of 158 fat cattle, values showed i onsiJernlile decline since last fair. Eir-.t-grade iincs attracted good competition, but only in two instance') was £4 reached for cows, a pen of choice heavy sorts mailing £4 10s, and another pen £4 Us. Average quality cows were m poor demand, generally from £2 10s to £7>. with Jersey cows not wanted and ranging from .01 5s to £1 12s 6d. Polled Angns-Hereford cross bullocks made £5 ss, and .lersev bullocks' £2, 17s 6d to £3 2s 6d.

STORE CATTLE There was a large entry of good conditioned store cattle. Up to lunch, there was a good sale, which was better than was anticipated by many, with values similar to those of last fair. Prices: — Bullocks.—2o Herefords, fresh conditioned, £5; 30 P.A.-Hereford cross, fresh condition, £5 2s ; 23 P.A., fresh condition, £4 16s ; 36, most P.A., heavy, killable. £6 4s; 21, mostly Jersey, average condition, £2 Os; 27 lusty, fresh condition, Hereford-P.A. cross (p), £5 3s; 35 big, forward Ilcrefords, £5 3s; 22 Herefords, good store condition, £4 4s; 37 good store conditioned P.A., £4 3s; 16 heavy Herefords, heavy frame, £6 6s. Two-year heifers.—3o. mostly P.A., fresh condition, £2 14s; 77 P.A., in good order, £2 13s ; 55, fresh condition, P.A., £3; 37 fresh condition Herefords, £2 13s.
