ELUSIVE GRIFFIN
SEARCH IN AUSTRALIA ARREST ORDERED POLICE HANDICAPPED (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received November 20, noon.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. The Attorney-General, Mr. Menzies, stated that orders have been given to the chief of the Commonwealth Investigation Branch, Lieut.-Colonel H. E. Jones, to find Gerald Griffin, if he is in Australia, and to arrest him immediately. The efforts of officers of the investigation branch have been considerably hampered by lack of means of identifying Griffin. The Federal authorities cabled tho Wellington police asking definitely for the whereabouts of Griffin Although several, leaders at Dr. Kiscli’s protest meeting at the Melbourne Stadium on Sunday night declared that Griffin appeared in person, it is stated in official circles that the banned New Zealander was impersonated. It is pointed out that the man who addressed tho meeting was considerably younger than Griffin.
