MEAT DISCUSSIONS
STATEMENT REQUESTED

WELLINGTON, this day. The Leader of* the Opposition, Mr. M. J. Savage, asked the *Rt. Hon. G. W, Forbes in the Mouse of Representatives yesterday whether, in view of the importance of meat imports into Britain, he would make a statement regarding the progress that was being made in the discussions on the subject that are takirig place between representatives of New Zealand and Britain.
Mr." Forbes said he was unable to make a statement at present;' as the discussions were still proceeding, but he bop jgt to do so in a few days.
