HANDICAP PROSPECTS
MELBOURNE, Nov. 3. Squadron-Leader Hewett and FlyingOfficer Kay arrived oil Saturday. Despite the long delay at- Cloncurry, Squadron-Leader Hewett claims that they have a good chance in the handicap event. He intends returning to Sydney shortly, preparatory to flying the Tasman.
Cries of “Tenakoe” and “Kia Ora” greeted the flyers as they descended at Laverton. They- were welcomed by Messrs. Firth, H. O. Walker, J. Melrose, Major Roscoe Turner, Mr. Clyde Pangborn, and several New Zealanders.
Both airmen are well. They say thatthe section over Australia was the worst part of the flight.
