ACCUSED’S STATEMENT
GRAND JURY’S RIDER
(Per Press Association.)
WANGANUI, this day. The grand jury, returning a true bill against Michael Ansley of indecent assaults on females, added a rider that when any statements are being taken ii’om a suspected person or persons they should have a definite right of a solicitfcar or other advisor prior to such statements being obtained. Mr. Justice Smith said be would forward the rider to the. proper quarter. It was very satisfactory to know that the grand jury was taking a definite interest, in the administration of justice.
