' The police stated that the accused would older periodicals from different;, shops and call for them with a hriet( bag. While in the shops he would select the books lie intended to steal.; move them to the hack of cases, and then slip them into the bag. All ihq books were of good quality, and of a) high standard. ‘ When his home was; searched, 550 new books were found in! his possession. Counsel said that only 284 books jhad, ■been stolen. The accused had a substantial library of his own. He was remanded for sentence.
