TRUSTEE IN CHARGE
INVESTMENT COMPANIES (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. As an outcome of the passing of the Companies (Special Receivership) Bill by Parliament yesterday, the District Public Trustee took action this morning, on instructions from the Public Trustee in Wellington. Representatives of the Public Trustee were placed in control of all the offices of the companies affected by yesterday’s legislation. PASSED BY COUNCIL (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. and adjourned until 4.30 p.m., when the Companies (Special Receivership) Bill was received. On the second reading Sir James Allen suggested that the Government should bring down legislation which would prevent directors of trustee companies gaining control for ulterior motives.
The bill was put through all stages and passed and tho Council rose.
