NEED FOTt STATEMENT “There is considerable diversity of practice’ within the church at present, and this is sometimes a ground lor mis-m,dri-standing with sister churches, states the report- of the public questions committee, on marriage ami divorce to he presented to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church <>! New -eahmd at Dunedin next w-ek. The committee recommends that a special committee he set up to draw up a statement of Christian principles on this subject, conferring, as it sees tit, with sister churches, and reporting to next assembly. The commit lee also fuels that- j lf attention of all entitled by the Presbyterian Church to officiate at marriages should he directed to the Westminster Confession, as reaffirmed hv the 1908 assembly.
