The National Broadcasting Commission is seeking official sanction for tho installation of microphones in tho courtroom for the broadcasting of the trial of Bernard Hmiptman, on a charge of extortion in connection with the Lindbergh baby kidnapping. The trial will commence on October 1.1, Meanwhile, the Newark, New Jersey, Ledger, claims to have exclusive information that the New York police are holding in strict seclusion Hauptman’s accomplice, who is stated to have confessed that ho held the ladder while Hauptmann kidnapped the baby, who was "killed in a fall when the ladder broke as Hauptmann was descending.
