FROZEN MEAT MARKETS EASY DEMAND CONTINUES A. continuance of the easy market at •Smithfield is reported by the Meat Board in the following advice from London: — “Lamb.—Prices are slightly weaker, owing to the seasonable decline in demand and plentiful supplies of Home killed meat. “Mutton.—For wethers and ewes prices are easier owing to heavier arrivals and poor demand. “Beef.—The market is steady, and prices are unchanged. “New Zealand porker pigs.—Heavier arrivals have eased prices, and trade is slow owing to unfavorable weather. “New Zealand bnconer pigs.—Prices are nominal, owing to limited supplies.” THE BUTTER MARKET N.Z. STOCKS AGAIN DECLINE A further sharp decline in the stocks of New Zealand butter held in London is recorded in advice received by the Dairy Board. Stocks at the end of last week totalled 8841 tons, a reduction of 680 tons for the previous week, after 1800 tons had been delivered. A vear ago 4823 tons remained in store after ]Buo tons had been delivered. Australian stocks also declined by 235 tons, to 3794 Tons, The market at the end of the week was described as weak, with prices irregular, for New Zealand and Australian butter, while for other supplies the market was slow. Retail prices were unchanged at fid for New Zealand and Is Id for Danish. Quotations at the end of the week were:—New Zealand, salted 64s to 67s (equals approximately 7.3 d, f.0.b.), unsalted 76s to 80s; Australian, salted 64s to 675, unsalted 68s to 70s; Danish, 87s, f.0.b.. 107 s spot; Dutch, unsalted 66s to 765; Estonian and Latvian, salted 58s to 60s; Siberian, salted 60s to 635; U’kranian, suited 61s; Polish, salted 54s lo 58s; Lithuanian, salted 58s to 60s.
