Waste is not always sinful—it helps to keep the wheels of industry goitre;. This point was made by Mr. W. Machin at* a meeting of the Canterbury ficonomics Society. "The finest thing in the world is waste,” he saidh. "Where would industry be, and howmany people would be employed ih» industry, if there was no waste and articles did not become out of date, or had not to be replaced now and again?”
