TRADE WITH INDIA
AN ELOQUENT APPEAL A TRAVELLER’S REMINDER That- Indian firms are fully alive to the possibility of expanding their trade within the Empire is indicated by the receipt, by a Gisborne firm ot sporting goods dealers, of an interesting trade reminder from a commercial director who lust year toured New. Zealand on behalf of his principals, whose business is situated in Sialkot City, in the Punjab Province of India. The letter, which came to the hands of Messrs. Tattcrsall and Bavly by the last overseas mail, was aS under:— •‘Dear Sirs,—l present due compliments from my native land, where 1 reached safely, and know not how to thank and repay deep debt of gratitude and the hospitality you showered on me when I frequented your wonderful land. Your business confidence placed in me is really noteworthy, and I implore heaven's assistance to turn all vows practical. “To enhance your trade and my principals’ interests 1 found and formed several changes by way of improvement in our factory, and trust that the indents so kindly placed with me shall give satisfaction you desired these to convey. Further samples for next year summer goods are being got ready in new and attractive designs and no sooner they are up with finishing I shall arrange their precipitate dispatch to Messrs. and Company, Limited, Wellington, and all their branches. May I entertain a hope that you would view these before placing your indents elsewhere. In fact, I presume our local representative to see you before you do so.
“Samples contain the best value that can ever he had. I particularly request you to favor me with your indents, especially in hockey sticks, Rugby cases, and Association footballs, for which 1 booked some business last year, f wish these indents to arrive my hands early so as to get a chance of serving you by looking and executing these personally which I am certain would exactly coincide with your desires, as per my personal experience through your co operation.
“Tour sweet company and remembrance is really quite unquitable, and the ■soothing balm for me would he to see myself once again amongst yon all in cheerful mood than before. Please do not forget. Yours truly, ”
