WOMAN ACQUITTED
BARRY MURDER CHARGE

The jury returned a verdict of not guilty in the case against Mrs. Charlotte Fowler, who was charged with the murder of John Ryan, at Barry, near Bathurst, and she was discharged.
The body of Ryan, who was 79 years of age, was found in a hut at Barry on June 8, he having been shot through the heart. Later investigations showed that the victim’s fortune had mysteriously disappeared, and it was found that he had been making secret payments. Mrs. Fowler, ait elderly-woman, was arrested on dune 18 and charged with murder.
