OLDEST MAN IN CANADA
OTTAWA, June 4. To-day Mr. John Birch, an inmate of the Home for the Aged at Northbay, Ontario, who is reputed to be the oldest person in Canada, celebrated his lilth birthday. He was borfi at Sebastopol in Russia in 1823, and after, having fought through the Crimean War emigrated to Canada with ,his wife and child in 1800. Mr. Birch is in fair health and his eyesight is still so good that ho was able to thread a needle yesterday. He has three sons and one daughter living, also 28-grandchildren and one great-. •paadchihcU
