SALE OF STOCK REMEDIES DISCUSSION IN COUNCIL (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. In moving the second reading of the Stuck Remedies Hill, the Hon. JL Masters stated that it was designed to protect farmers against spurious remedies which were detrimentally affecting the stock of the Dominion. The Agricultural 'Committee had suggested that the ingredients of stock remedies should not he stated on the label of the container, and the Government had decided to adopt the amendment, as it was considered that the ingredients of the remedies should not be made known to competitors. The bill had the endorsement of members of various farmers’ organisations.

The lion. 1). Buddo said the hill would be welcomed hy the farming community and would benefit reputable mauuiaeturers of stock medicines. The Hon. W. 11. Mclntyre said fluhill was urgently required. The only expenses being allowed to members of the board were actual travelling expenses incurred while proceeding to a meeting, which would be held verv occasionally, to register any stock medicines. The bill was read- a second time, put through the remaining Rages and passed.
