(Received May 3, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 3.„ On charges resulting from his having operated on the racehorses Debp Respect and Kodapen to cure thdm of ‘ ‘ roaring, ’ ’ Dr. \V. C. Ring, jof Auckland, was lined £3 and costs in the Central Summons Court. The information contained in thostibpoena dealt with that section of the regulations requiring any person-to be registered by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of New South Wales before practising in this State. Dr. Ring’s solicitor) in asking .that no conviction be recorded under a special section of the Act said that the operations were performed solely owing to,a lifelong friendship‘betwebn Dr. Ring and Mr. .T. T. Jamieson. Similar operations had been performed in New Zealand with successful results. -
The magistrate declined to release the defendant, saying that he knew the law and accepted a fee for the operations.
