LONDON WOOL SALES

At the wool sales, 7113 'bales were offered, including 2164 from New Zea'nnd, and about 43000 bales were sold'. There was a better selection, including a good proportion of merinos. There was fair competition, and steady prices wore realised. There wore some withdrawals, as selling limits were, not reached.
New Zealand sales: Ilalfbred lamb, slipes, 11/NZ, 17d; crossbred lambs, stipes, top 16d, average 14Jd.
Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Limited, have received the following report from London :—‘.The third series of London wol sales opened on May 1 to a good attendance of buyers. Competition is only moderate, Bradford and France being the principal buyers. The selection of wools offered was mostly of a poor and inferior class. As compared with the closing rates of last series, March 16, all crossbreds, from coarse to fine, declined about £d per lb. No halfbred wools were available.”
